  1. Is there a cost to participate in the program?
    No! The program is free of charge. Transportation assistance may be provided where needed.
  2. How many participants will you select to participate?
    We will select 20 participants through a competitive application process.
  3. I don’t already have a business idea I want to focus on – should I still apply?
    Of course! You’re exactly the type of person we’re looking for. We will help you to learn a process that can help you to identify a viable business idea.
  4. I don’t live in the San Isidro region – can I still apply?
    Yes, but the program does require that you are in San Isidro for the duration of the four-week program, and we are not able to cover the cost of transportation to San Isidro or accommodation while you’re here.
  5. What if I can only commit to participating for part of the time?
    Please only apply if you’re able to commit to the full program duration, which is Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm, March 17 to April 11.
  6. I’m not a student – ​​can I apply?
    Yes, anyone between the age of 18 and 30 who can commit to the entire program is welcome to apply. Exceptional candidates outside this age range will also be considered.
  7. Do I need to speak English to participate in this program?
    No – it is not necessary. All instruction will be offered in Spanish
  8. I already have a business but want to learn how to grow it. Should I apply?
    The program is not intended for individuals who are already operating a business. However, if you are interested in developing a new business that is substantially different from your existing business, you are welcome to apply.
  9. Are meals included in the program?
    Lunch is included every day that the program runs.
  10. Will I earn money for my business?
    All participants will be provided with a small amount of start-up capital that will be sufficient to build and test their prototype (preliminary business ideas) . The program will culminate in an opportunity for all participants to present their business idea to a panel of judges, and up to 5 participants will receive  $2,000 start-up grant to develop their idea further.
  11. What happens after the program?
    In addition to receiving these funds, the winning participants will receive further consulting services and mentorship from both local and international business experts.
  12. Is this the first time offering the program?
    No – we have offered the program previously in March/April, 2024, and October/November 2024 in Perez Zeledon.
